Nurek dam, Tajikistan

Nurek Dam is the highest dam in the world. The Nurek Dam is about 304 meters (980 ft) high and 700 meters (2,300 ft) long. This dam is built on the Vakhsh River in Tajikistan. Construction of this dam started in 1961 and ended in 1981. Nine Francis turbine generator power has been installed at Nurek Dam. The capacity of the Nurek Dam is 3,015 MW.
