Over 800 newspapers carried the panel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1985<\/strong> &#8211; The Israeli army pulled out of Lebanon after 1,099 days of occupation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1990<\/strong> &#8211; The Civic Forum movement won Czechoslovakia&#8217;s first free elections since 1946. The movement was founded by President Vaclav Havel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1990<\/strong> &#8211; Bulgaria&#8217;s former Communist Party won the country&#8217;s first free elections in more than four decades.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1993<\/strong> &#8211; It was announced by scientists that genetic material was extracted from an insect that lived when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1994<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0U.S. President Clinton\u00a0intensified sanctions against Haiti&#8217;s military leaders.\u00a0U.S.\u00a0commercial air travel was suspended along with most financial transactions between Haiti and the\u00a0U.S.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1996<\/strong> &#8211; The Colorado Avalanche defeated the Florida Panthers in a 1-0 triple overtime game. The win ended a four-game sweep for the Stanley Cup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1996<\/strong> &#8211; Britain and Ireland opened Northern Ireland peace talks. The IRA&#8217;s political arm Sinn Fein was excluded.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1998<\/strong> &#8211; The\u00a0Wisconsin\u00a0Supreme Court ruled that poor children in Milwaukee could attend religious schools at taxpayer expense.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1999<\/strong> &#8211; NATO suspended air strikes in Yugoslavia after Slobodan Milosevic agreed to withdraw his forces from Kosovo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2015<\/strong> &#8211; The movie\u00a0<i>Jurassic World<\/i> opened in 60 countries.
