1904<\/strong> – F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) was founded.<\/p>\n

1906<\/strong> – Louis H. Perlman received his patent for the demountable tire-carrying rim.<\/p>\n

1922<\/strong> – The cartoon, “On the Road to Moscow,” by Rollin Kirby won a Pulitzer Prize. It was the first cartoon awarded the Pulitzer.<\/p>\n

1924<\/strong> – Fourteen-year-old Bobby Franks was murdered in a “thrill killing” committed by Nathan Leopold Jr. and Richard Loeb. The killers were students at the University of Chicago.<\/p>\n

1927<\/strong> – Charles A. Lindberg completed the first solo nonstop airplane flight across the Atlantic Ocean. The trip began May 20.<\/p>\n

1929<\/strong> – The first automatic electric stock quotation board was used by Sutro and Company of New York City.<\/p>\n

1929<\/strong> – William Henry Storey registered the trademark for the board game\u00a0Sorry!<\/i>\u00a0in the U.K. (U.K. number 502898)<\/p>\n

1934<\/strong> – Oskaloosa, IA, became the first city in the\u00a0U.S.\u00a0to fingerprint all of its citizens.<\/p>\n

1947<\/strong> – Joe DiMaggio and five of his New York Yankee teammates were fined $100 because they had not fulfilled contract requirements to do promotional duties for the team.<\/p>\n

1998<\/strong> – Microsoft and Sega announced that they are collaborating on a home video game system.<\/p>\n

1998<\/strong> – In Miami,\u00a0FL, five abortion clinics were hit by a butyric acid-attacker.<\/p>\n

1998<\/strong> \u2013 President\u00a0Suharto\u00a0of\u00a0Indonesia\u00a0resigns following the killing of students from\u00a0Trisakti University earlier that week by security forces and growing mass protests in Jakarta against\u00a0his ongoing corrupt rule.<\/p>\n
