Durant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1934<\/strong> &#8211; The first race track in\u00a0California\u00a0opened under a new pari-mutuel betting law.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1941<\/strong> &#8211; U.S. Ambassador to Japan John Grew warned that the Japanese may be planning a sudden attack on the\u00a0U.S.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1952<\/strong> &#8211; Frozen bread was offered for sale for the first time in a supermarket in Chester,\u00a0NY.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1953<\/strong> &#8211; The Rules Committee of organized baseball restored the sacrifice fly. Bob Kane, the creator of Batman, died at the age of 83.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1998<\/strong> &#8211; A state-run newspaper in Iraq urged the country to prepare to battle &#8220;the U.S.\u00a0monster.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1998<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0Minnesota\u00a0elected Jesse &#8220;The Body&#8221; Ventura, a former pro wrestler, as its governor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2002<\/strong> &#8211; At Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong, 777 people assembled a 58,435 square foot jigsaw puzzle with 21,600 pieces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2003<\/strong> &#8211;
